Avoid Identity Theft
Identity theft can happen when someone acquires
your personal information such as name, date of
birth, Social Security number, or your mother's
maiden name in order to impersonate you. Fraud
is committed when criminals access your bank
accounts, obtain loans in your name, make
purchases using your identity, etc.
Never share your online password with anyone. Be suspicious of any e-mail or
individual who asks for this information.
We will never ask for your password
via e-mail or telephone
. If anyone claiming to represent our bank asks for your
password, contact us immediately.
Never share personal information over the phone with anyone unless you initiated
the contact or know for certain with whom you are speaking.
Before providing any personal information, ask how it will be used and protected
and if what you're asked to provide is voluntary or mandatory to complete the
transaction.
Use your credit card number only on secure Internet sites that use encryption
(look for "https" in the URL/address bar or the lock icon at bottom right corner of
your browser.)
